losing audio in standby mode

I have a Toshiba A75-S206 Satellite laptop with 512M running XP SP2.
Whenever I put my laptop in standby mode I almost invariably lose my
audio when I bring it out of standby. However, if I put it back into
standby and bring back out as soon as it makes it into standby I always
recover my audio.

I've been living with this workaround for some time but it would be
nice to find the real fix for this. I've checked and I have the latest
audio drivers that I can find. Anybody have any suggestions on what to
look for? Given that I can recover from a "quick" standby, I would
guess there is some timing issue that gets circumvented during a
"quick" standby.

This means that there is a problem with Standby and the drivers for
the sound card. Try using updated drivers or try the Hibernation mode
instead.

Well i think that is what stand by means, the computer stops all the
preograms from functioning including al the audio programs.

Well i din't quite understand your question
Hope this helps
