Loop from Log on, to Logged off

I recently tried to update my virus control programme, AVG and since
then, when I try and log onto the pc using any user names, there is an
immediate attempt to log in followed by log out and saving of settings.
Can anyone advise me how to rectify this?
 
Uninstall AVG from administrative account, reinstall/ update. download and
install spybot and adaware, update, run both. Go to services and disable
Fast User switching capability, reboot, set to manual. get all windows
critical updates.
