Looking for 'Stored IMs'

my yahoo messenger has recently started laggin while in IM box and i cannot
get into chat rooms using yahoo messenger, i realize this isn't a windows
issue, however several ppl have told me to look for a folder called "stored
IM's" and no matter how i search for it, there doesn't seem to be such a
folder on my computer, they say, when their messenger starts to do what mine
is, there is a folder called stored im's that you can clean and it will
straighten it out, I run windows xp proffessional, I just can't seem to find
this folder that other XP users have on their hard drive, yet i don't seem to
have, any ideas?
