When archiving an email folder the path for the pst is ....C:\Documents and
Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\task.pst

.....but I can not follow this path because the \Local Settings\ folder does
not appear. Can you tell me why not - or how to find the pst folder(s).

Thanks - Also If I archive tasks - will it remove the old completed tasks in
the history.

Try Start>Run
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Application Data
\Microsoft\Outlook
or you may meed to put quotes around it:
"C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Application Data
\Microsoft\Outlook"

If you want to navigate there manually through explorer, you will need
to 'Show Hidden Program or System Files"

The folder is marked hidden - See http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/filepath.htm.

Archive should remove completed tasks - you can change the folder preferences so its not archived or so they are moved to the archive folder.

Local Settings is a hidden folder. You can enable showing hidden files and
folders Windows Explorer by clicking Tools>Folder Options>View and selecting
the "Show hidden files and folders" radio button or you can simply type the
path "C:\Documents and Settings\youraccount\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook" into the Windows Explorer address field and clicking
Go.
