Thanks, a freeware "Band-in-a-box" is what many have longed for.

After playing with it for an hour, this is a fantastic program.
But it can get better, some ideas:

I miss a play looped alternative, so I can concentrate on the music
without having to restart the song every minute. Maybe one can make
very long songs, or loop sections..? Play looped between these two
marks, left click and right click to set points in time. Look at
CoolEdit for some good standard options in the transport section.

The Import midi file is fantastic, and it seems to woork fairly well, I
imported a midi song successfully and made a superjam song from it.

But I miss automatic chord detection of the imported midi file, there
was nothing on the chord name line. For a programmer it is fairly easy
to analyze what chord is being played at any point in time, and the
current chord could be displayed in real time, like in Cubase.

How to create a style from an imported midi file?

I noted that the same web site has links a bunch of similar programs,
in the dropdown bar, so now I have incredible software to play with.

Now I only need a hundreds years more to live, so I can waste them on
music and women :-)

I shipped you Midi Orchestrator PT.
It`ll do that and then some.
It doesn`t have to have Soundblaster to work with
your soundcard.
