Looking for an automatic transition to a previous slide

All,
please help me out, for my artstudy i need to do this PPTpresentation
and i want to make it as animated as possible.

Question is:
How can you in powerpoint make an automatic transition to a previous
slide without clicking?

With clicking you can use the hyperlink function...within a slide you
can use object animation.

But i want that after a slide(e.g. slidenumber 10) is finshed it goes
automatically back to a previous slide(e.g. slidenumber 5)
Is this possible within Powerpoint or are there maybe some sort of
external coding(VBA, other...) available???

It is my first tme here...usefull help would be extremely appreciated

So are your first linking from slide 5 to slide 10 - and when you are
finished with slide 10 you want to automatically go back to slide 5?

If that is the case, create a Custom Show out of Slide 10 (Slide Show >
Custom Show). Then create an Action Button (Slide Show > Action Buttons) on
Slide 5. Use Slide Show > Action Settiing to link the button to the new
Custom Show. Set the link to Show and Return.

If using PowerPoint 2003

Under Custom Animation after you have added an Effect
Select "With Previous" next to the Start Box.
Do it for ann slides
If you want the Slide to transist automatically then Under Advance Slide
Click Automatically After xx.xx
[where xx:xx is the number of Seconds the slide will transist]

Automatically reverts back to slide 5:
Click on Slide Show > Set Up Show > Under Show Slides Select All

Also go to the slide Sorter view and check whether the slides are hidden or
not

, as I suspect you are looking for an AUTOMATIC "goto slide 5" then you cant
without VBA. The vba code for goto 5 is easy but I dont know how to auto
trigger it.

Thanx for your respnse,
very well appreciated,
i've got Powerpont 2002
However, dont seem that your suggestions work.
My slides are pretty complicated, full of textboxes, pictures and
several effects.I follow regular route, 1,2,3,4,5,67,8,9,10
Only after the complete slide then has been gradually been build, after
the latest action i want to go back to slide 5.
It's a textbox that appears slowly...then from that slide i want to go
back to another slide.
On slide 5 i do have hyperlinks on clickaction, but that the point i
can only use one slide with clickable buttons.

PJA,
Using Custom Show,
You can set up a custom show (Slide 2-10, then 5 again).
Then on Slide 1, have a hyperlink that links to the custom show.

Alternately a quick and easy solution,
Right click on slide 5, select copy.
Then, paste it after slide 10 to make a duplicate of slide 5.
In this way, 'slide 5' will appear after slide 10.
Then on the duplicated slide, you can have a hyperlink that links back to
slide 6 or other slides.

Is that what you want?
