look-up after every capture in mm2

Everytime I capture using the firewire on automatic settings...it states that the capture is completed and then I recieve an error that the program has to close. What was captured is on my harddrive, but the program crashing doesn't leave much for confidence...any suggestions?
I heard that having codecs such as divx around can make this program unstable...there is none of my system.

I have been capturing in the windows compressed format to save space.
