Long, really long filenames

I have a file that has a 132 character filename. I cannot
open it. I cannot double-click it to edit it's name to
something more reasonable. It is an MP3 file that has
value (and takes space) but system seems to think it is
not there. I have tried going in to edit ID Tag, and
tried (from properties) to rename but have been
unsuccessful.

Is there any way to change this filename so it is once
again useable?

I had this happen a couple of times but it was so long ago that I forgot how
I remedied it. I was successful once using renaming with DOS commands
(emulated in XP!!!) and another by left clicking until it highlighted then
used spacebar once then BACKSPACE/DELETE combinations until I reduced the
characters in the filename to a smaller number and then hit return. This
effectively re-named the file. Maybe the more experienced users can give you
a better solution.

If that doesn't work...mail me the fare and I will fly down and fix it for
you. Ha! Ha!
