When the machine boots up the little indicator bar across the bottom hangs
haflway for about 3 minutes, then continus on ok
Any suggestions here
 
You need to set your IDE/ ATA/ ATAPI controllers in Device Manager to use
the correct protocol

Windows 2000 doesn't always pick the right one. Tell them to use DMA and if
you don't have one of the channels
in use, disable it.
