Logs off immediately after log in

P

Paul Smith

When I try to log into one of the users in Windows XP it try to log in but
immediately logs me out.
From my research it appears i have a virus.
Safe mode doesn't help.
I need my disk that came with the computer to do a "repair" I think but i
can't find the disk(s).
It is a legit copy of XP Home.
What options do i have?
Thanks,
Paul

Unplug the harddrive, get another computer ( friend's computer maybe ) that
has antivirus with latest updates.
Plug the drive there as slave, then scan for viruses.
Plug it back to your computer.

=======================================
When you say "Safe mode doesn't help"...
are you saying you cannot launch Safe Mode?
If you can access Safe Mode...try doing a
system restore to a time before this issue
began.

Maybe the following articles will help:

Boot Options in Windows XP

(307852) How to start your computer by using

Have a look at this thread, posted here some 12 hours ago: Windows XP Loops
on start up. Same topic, same cure, same misleading response by "The Real
Truth" respondent (a troll, not an MVP).

Vanessa,

That solution has never worked yet because it doesn't replace the
'userinit.exe' file in system32, nor will it delete the files in system32
that have brackets. Example: SomeFile(4)(2).dll Meither does it rebuilt the
WinLogon registry key

I have had 4 of these maches given to me so far & the OP states using a XP
disc for repair won't solve it either. I have had to rebuild them manually
from the DOS prompt using a Windows PE disc

So, you searching Google & reading this advice doesn't work

Besides, many users in this newsgroup over the past 10 days have had the
same problem & your advice has been given before without ever working
because of the above reasons. Not trying to attack your advice but it's
false advice that is incorrect

John,

With this issue you cannot safe boot. One of the 4 machines people had given
me had corrupt MBR's & none of them will get into safe mode

Do you really want to trust someone that was banned from posting
directly to Microsoft Usenet servers, someone that has posted links to
pornographic materials on HIS WEBSITE, who's website is in the MVP HOST
Block list, and who provides a tool for your use that will block access
to reputable anti-malware sites without telling you he's doing it?

Do you really want to trust someone that has had to change their posting
identity after being busted by MS as a fake MVP?

Stalking, even in usenet is a crime, there are enough pages from your
filthy site to prove you're stalking me in your posts.

What's misleading is your blatant lie. I did not reply to that thread so why
did you lie and say that I did? My userinit fix works and you know it, but
because of the fact that it came from me you don't want nobody to use it.
That makes you a troll.

The solution given to you by the real truth works. I have used it and can
verify it works.

Just another sock of butts.

The application will also block access to reputable anti-malware sites
that the community supports. None in the community support anything from
pcbutts website.
