Logs disappear in Event Viewer

Has anyone had the logs in Event Viewer disappear? They
reappear after refreshing, but then disappear again once
you go back to them. We are running 2000 server with
service pack 4.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

not sure but I seem to recall this is one of the symptoms of the
recent MS Blast worm attack

John, I am having the exact same problem. It started
happening after is followed the instructio0ns to rebuild
performance counter values (MS KB 300956).
