The logon icon for each user on our computer shows the
wrong number of emails. Is there some way to fix it so
it is right or to do away with the notice all together???

Thanks

A real pain in the butt isn't it? I turned this off a long
long time ago. To do that requires you to make a small
change in the registry so I suggest you write this down so
that you can reverse it in the future if you feel you want
to. Go>start\run and type in regedit and hit ok. Now
follow this route by clicking the + beside each entry in
this order.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
\UnreadMail Now right click on UnreadMail and then click
permissions. This will open up the selection screen for
you to set access to this option. Click on your name and
then set permission in all cases to "Deny". You can do
this for all the people on your system or just yourself. I
have mine set to "Deny" for everyone. You won't have any
Unread Mail screen anymore. Have fun.
