Logon problem

I use Win XP. When I login to Windows I get a dialogue box coming up asking
me to enter a username and a password. I want to get rid of this so I log
straight in to Windows. How can I get rid of the box?

A further problem which has appeared recently is a message box appearing
which says 'wrong username or password'. I can still login even though I
think I have actually removed the password. At any rate, I certainly don't
enter a password but I can still login! Clearly the message is wrong and I
want to stop that appearing too.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

OK, I did this. Now the dialogue comes up with administrator in the username
box. It asks for a password. I don't know what it is. I tried administrator.
Didn't work. Now I can't even get into windows. Help.

If you have never assigned a password most likely it is still the default (just leave it blank) and see if you get in.
