Logon Problem between Vista and 2000 Pro

Hi everybody, Below is the original message; the last thing I did was to run
the net view \\"IP" and net viwe \\"Host name" command from the Vista Laptop
(the host and the IP adrress are the 2000 Pro) and in boht cases I got the
error number 5 "Access is denied". Any idea??? (the following is the original
post)
Thanks in advance

Hi, I have a little workgroup. I have a printer server running 2000 Pro, 5
PCs running XP, and 2 Laptops running Vista.
I can print and access the files in the 2000 Pro server from any XP PC. From
both Laptops running vista I can see all the computers in the workgroup, I
can also see the files and use the printer of any PC running XP. The problem
is between Vista and 2000 Pro. I can access files in the Vista Laptops from
the 2000 Pro Server, but I can not see any shared folder or use any printer
in the 2000 Pro Server from the Vista Laptops. Each time I try to connect to
the 2000 Pro Server from the Vista laptops I get a logon dialog box; I
defined in the 2000 Pro server the same users I have in the Vista laptops (I
did't do so for the XP PCs and they work just fine) and no matter what user I
use to logon (I try to use also the 2000 Pro administrator user) I always get
a "Logon Unsucessful" error.
The vista and 2000 Pro has the NetBUI on TCP/IP enabled.
What can I do??

In most cases, the system error 5 is permission issue. these search result
may help.

System ErrorsIf the net view command fails with a "System error 5 has
occurred. .... 2. when using net view \\hostname, you may receive "System
error 5 has occurred. ...

Can I assume the external drive used to be connecting to other
computer and you just re-connect it the the Vista? Check the permission

I don't think the problem is in the 2000 Pro computer. All the other PC
running vista can access perfectly. The problem must be in vista someplace, I
just can not find were is it; I can't acces even using the 2000 Pro user from
the vista computer (\Host\username). Any suggestion? please!!
