Logon Issues

How do I bypass the windows XP logon screen? My computer did have the logon screen for each user displayed. After installing PCAnywhere, it changed. I uninstalled it, and it changed back to having the normal XP logon (with each user name and user icon) screen, with one acception: It was looking for a password. I never established a password for any of the user accounts. Now it wants a password - and there supposedly isn't one

There is also an additional user account: ASP.NET machine account

Is there help for this

Thank you

Doug

Thank you for the information. It's good to see the ASP account is valid...

however, as far as using auto logon - I cannot even logon to begin with. It will not accept any password at all. Thus, I cannot get past the user icon logon screen

I see documentation to reset the password, but using 'alt-cntl-delete' does not allow me the option to change a password

Any other advice

Thank you much!

Use ctrl+alt+del twice in a row. This will bypass the XP logon screen and give you the old 2K/NT style logon screen. If you didn't set a password at install then you should be able to type in Administrator for the user then click in the password screen to set the cursor then hit enter. This should work unless you renamed the Admin account. If you did the type in the name you used and hit enter. If that don't work then more drastic measure will be required.
Good luck!
