Hi Folks,

I only have one user/login on one of my PCs and all I needed to do was
switch the PC on and it would boot straight into XP. However since updating
XP using Windows Update it has started giving me the 'Welcome' screen and
requiring me select the user.

As there is only one user and no password this is a pointless task, does
anyone know how to disable this requirement?

**Please reply via newsgroup**

Many thanks

JT

.. Go to the Start Menu and the Run box.
.. Type in the following:
control userpasswords2
.. now click OK
.. In the new Windows that appears select the account you wish to make the
primary logon.
.. Now uncheck the "Users must enter a username and password..." box.
.. Hit Apply and a dialog box will appear asking you to confirm the selected
users password.

Click OK.
The changes will work the next time you restart your computer.
