Login twice to outlook

G

Guest

Hi,
I am using Outlook 2003 sp1 and connecting to an imap/smtp server.

I have created a prf file to create outlook profiles, but when outlook is
started I have to login twice once for the imap server and again for the smtp
server.

Is there a way of setting outlook to use the same credentials for both
servers?

Heres the contents of my prf file

That's up to the server administrators, i would think. They're the ones who
establish the credentials for the servers.

Yes, but the credentials are the same for both services (imap/smtp), its
running on the same server.

I want outlook to use the credentials for the first login and use it for the
second.

Cheers

Click Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next. Select the IMAP account and click Change,
then More Settings. Select the Outgoing Server tab. Is the box labeled "My
outgoing server requires authentication" checked? If so, is the radio
button labeled "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" selected?

Sorry for the delay...

The more settings button is greyed out! I have configured the settings
through an outlook profile do you think this is why the button is greyed out?

Thanks

Using the E-mail Accounts button in the Mail applet in Control Panel is
exactly the same thing as Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next. If you can't access
the More Settings button, try deleteing the IMAP account, stopping and
restarting Outlook, and readding it.
