Login Script takes WAY TOO LONG

Greetings-

We're migrating from NetWare to Windows Server 2003 and just started testing
login scripts. We ran the script that was a simple batch file; It took
approximately 45 seconds to map seven drive letters. Is this normal? Is
there an alternative way to map drives that takes less time?

Yeah an alternative way is VBScript and WMI.

set net = Wscript.CreateObject("Wscript.Network")
net.MapNetworkDrive "G:", \\SERVERNAME\Share\folder

It shouldn't take anything like this long. I wonder if you have an error in
your DNS configuration.
