That's a loaded question, over here if a server is left alone with an admin
logged on the desktop, he or she gets a serious boxing session. Let me put
it to you this way, a server is 100% operational even when no login is
interactive. The moment you see the login dialog, the server is up.

The difference between a server waiting for a local login and one that has
the administrator logged on to desktop is that the former prevents a virus
from propagating as well as prevent undue modification of network by any
party.
