Did it ever work? If yes, and assuming both the username
and password are correct, it is likely that the account has become
corrupted. Delete that account in Windows Mail, close WM and
restart it, then re-create that account.
T prevent future recurrences, take the advice given all over this
forum with respect to non-compatible antivirus software.
Hello, I had the same problem. I was locked out, although I knew the password
was correct. I used the onscreen keyboard to eliminate any mistake on my
keyboard as regards capitals etc. I kept getting 'The user profile service
failed the log-on'. The password was correct. I had to contact Dell who said
it was a software problem. I spent an hour on the phone to a technician in
India. My computer was taken back to factory settings. I have paid £34.08 for
this. I have removed the password now. I dont believe I made any mistakes.
However, I still dont know whether the software was at fault or some other
problem. Appreciate this doesnt help you, but at least you know you're not
alone! Anthony Ford.
