We had to have the motherboard replaced on our home pc
yesterday. All seemed fine until we tried to reconnect to
the internet - to do this we needed to reboot the machine
once our broadband provider had registered the codes.
When the machine was rebooted, it asked us to log on as
admin. The password we have recorded as admin doesn't
work and the login we normally used doesn't appear to work
either. Does anyone know how to get around this so that
we can get round this and log in? The version we're using
is Windows 2000 Professional. Dell, who provided the
computer, seem to think the only way is to replace the
hard drive which means we lose all the info.
Advice greatly appreciated!!
Thanks
