James and SpamCOP it seems that you two might the solution I am looking for
so please tell me how I can accomplish the fix without being able to get into
windows. Thank you very much.

This is a public forum. Use common sense and prudence. You have no
idea who is posting under what name.

Go to each web site. Decide for yourself if a Microsoft webpage would
have a link to a blogger site. Decide for yourself if a Microsoft
webpage would use a link to generate the logo or actually encode a
trademark in the page directly. Decide for yourself if a Microsoft
webpage would include an email link to a domain named "pcbutts1".

Use the google archive to see where MVP PA Bear really posts from and
who is forging posts from him. Better yet, use the archive to read a
month or two of history and decide for yourself whose advice is worth
reading and following.

How old are you? That statement you made above has proven to me that you
must be 3 years old. You must like making a fool of yourself. This is not a
Microsoft website www.mvps.org nor is mine www.ms-mvp.org for some reason
your limited experience thinks they are. Grow up and stop spreading lies in
this newsgroup. You also need to learn what a link is, Sheeeesh "use a link
to generate the logo " what an idiot.

As a matter of curiousity: If you are a spamcop user, why then do you
not use the same nick here that you use on spamcop? I don't recognize
anything in your nick, your wording, your nuances of verbiage, etc., to
any user I've seen in the spamcop forums or newsgroups, but I do
concentrate more on one than the other for reasons of my own. Normally
I can quickly spot similarities in people even when they change their
nicks, but I can't do that in your case.
As a spamcop user and contributor to the scbl myself for many years
I'm curious to know your nick at spamcop. And do you mean spamcop.net,
spamcop.com, or some other site? What's your public unername there?

Like I said; just curious.

It may be wise to do other research than just here anyway. Google is
likely to find many others with similar problems to yours and probably
good solutions, too. If you're actually in fear of responses here, it
may be the most highly recommended action for you, in fact. Remember,
this is an unmoderated group and there are no controls on who can or can
not post here anything they wish to post. But I'd recommend:

Do a little more lurking; it's actually pretty easy to spot who's who on
these groups, esp this group and a couple of others nearby. AFAIK there
is only one person who poses as someone else here and he's pretty easy
to pick out too. In fact, a quick look at past posts will expose him
pretty quickly too. And there's the one with the boilerplate crap
about which MVPs are no good and everyone should avoid them. Most know
better so he's only noise in the air, but it would be hard on less
experienced users. IIRC the former uses up to 4 different names for
himself, one of which he uses for attacking the MVPs and those who
actually are good to great references.

Can't you tell from the responses who's screwing around or not? Usually
it's possible though I haven't followed this thread and in fact haven't
even looked at it until this point. Look for similarities of the advice
in the responses and usually you can pick out the good ones from the
idiots and ignorants.

I'm fairly well known myself for confronting a couple of them in
particular, one of which claims to be an MVP and another who apparently
still holds the status but in what area is anyone's guess. In fact,
just this post may be enough to draw a few of them out of the woodwork
for you to observe unless I miss my guess. For the most part I ignore
them unless I decide to take advantage of their entertainment value or,
more likely, they post incorrect information intentionally and
additionally paint the entire universe in all the same color; no room in
the universe for anyone with a different opinion or experience than
theirs.

In fact, there is a certain similarity about your own writing style and
the post's headers that seem to make me think you are either using two
names yourself, or have recently changed it. That could mean you're
anything from simply annoyed to trolling to one of the nameless ones.
I'm responding but not naming names due to the nature of your own post,
which is my usual MO.

Lastly, as with advice on any newsgroup, it's often best to find the
advice that seems most likely usable and attempt to veryify it via other
means such as forums and Help sites. Google works well for such
research. It might cost you a little more time, but it's the prudent
thing to do when you're into something where you have no experience or
knowledge of the solution.

IMO only with more details from you could a response with anything more
targetted be possible.

HTH,

Twayne
