Logical Disk Manager - Dynamic Disks Offline

Mike

Greetings,
We have 2 Win2K Server (SP3) machines which are
connected via a fibre-channel network to 12 disks.
The 12 disks are setup as dynamic disks. There
is only one disk group for the 12 dynamic disks
and they are split into 2 volumes - 6 drives each.
One of the disks in one of the volumes failed yesterday.
The volume was deleted, the disk replaced and then
the volume recreated. Things were fine until the
two machines were rebooted. Now both see all the disks
as "Offline" and the message in event viewer is:

dmboot: Failed to auto-import disk group AbcDg0. All
volumes in the disk group are not available.

I realize that having both machines powered up when the
configuration was changed from one of them probably caused
the problem. However, I'm a little confused as to why
things were OK until the reboot. Is there any way
besides blowing away the drive configuration and starting
again to recover from this?

Thanks.
