Logging problem

I have a problem with my Windows 2000 Prof. Comp, it
starts up well and brings the log in dialog box. when i
enter the details it begins to log in then automatically
logs me out again. Have any of experienced a similar
problem? How do i go about solving it.I have searched on
the site but i do not seem to get an answer or frame my
problem in a way that i can search for the answer.

This sounds like one of two things; the drive letter has change from
original install, or the drive permissions have changed.

thanks for the suggestion.
The drive letter has not changed,and i did not tamper
with the drive permissions.the comp dual boots win98 and
win 2000 professional. any other suggestions...
