Broken Event Logging

My Event Logging does not seem to be working for the Application
Log(Appevent) and the System Event Log(SysEvent) until I reboot or restart
the system. I got the Security Event Log(SecEvent) working but I can't get
the other two to log. Is there a setting somewhere I'm overlooking? Windows
2000 Sp4 with all updates; AVG Antivirus; MS Antispyware; ZoneAlarm Firewall;
Spybot; and AdAware. Please give detailed steps to solve, if possible. Thank
you in advance

The temporary fix;
You might try changing the file properties to "Overwrite as needed"

Then; Control Panel|Administrative Tools|Services|Event Log Service|General,
set the "Startup Type:" to "Disabled" restart the pc, then delete (or move)
the corrupt *.evt file(s) from %systemroot%\system32\config then set the
Event Log Service "Startup Type:" back to "Automatic", restart for effect.

The more permanent fix;

Dave: Seems like your fix worked, just a minor problem now-the logging for
the Security Events seems to fill up fast; think I'll Google to see what the
best setting for the log should be. Thanks
