log on window problem

Hi,
I am using Windows XP home on a dell laptop. Just did a reinstall of the os
and all updates. Now when I am logged into my account and want to switch to
another user, not log off, just switch. I click the other user icon at the
user selection, log in window and it doesn't do anything. It looks like it
wants to log in but just flips back to the log in user screen. I have scanned
for virus and malware nothing found.
Thanks,
John
ps I am sorry I first posted in MdiaCenter in error. I didn't mean to cross
post...

What happens when you reboot the machine and log directly into the "other"
account?

Hi and thanks,
All accounts are admin accounts. Igf I reboot I can choose a differrent acct
but can't switch accounts. I can acces all accounts but only if I restart

It sounds as if your account switcher is damaged. If this is a recent
problem then System Restore will probably fix it.

HI again,
Since I was cleaning up some items after the reinstall, I didn't turn on
system restore yet. Is there another way to repair it?

Sorry, there isn't unless you performed a System State Backup. Looks like
you have to do another re-installation.
