Log on Problems using Win2k Professional

Rio

The computer was removed from the domain
and put into workgroup. Once the computer rebooted it
just gave me the user name, password, and of course it
doesn't give me a choice for domain. I need help with
logging back on to my pc. Please any help would be
greatly appreciated.

Are you the network admin? If not, even if you hack your way back into the
PC you will not be able to add it back to the domain unless you know the
username and password for a Domain Admin account. By removing it from the
Domain the process also removes all domain logons from the PC. The only
thing that is left is the local accounts. The default local accounts are
administrator and guest (disabled by default). So in short you need to know
the local administrator password and a domain admin username and password.
The local administrator password should be the password used when windows
2000 was first installed (just in case you were the one that installed
windows 2000). If you are not the network administrator then you will have
to ask one to come into work and you will have to bring your PC to work (I
will assume this is a laptop - does not matter really PC or laptop it will
have to be physically connected to the corporate network).
