Can't login after changing Domain to Workgroup

I changed the network logon to be a workgroup rather than a domain and now I
am unable to logon to the Windows 2000 Professional computer. I gave the
workgroup the same name as the domain when I changed the configuration.
The message I get when logging on is: "The system could not log you on. Make
sure your User name and domain are correct, then type your password again."
There is no option to change the domain.
How can I fix this and get logged on again? I can get into the computer.
Thank you for your assistance.

You need to ask your network administrator to re-register your
machine on the domain. Alternatively, you need to ask him/her
for a local account/password.

The computer was brought home so that work could be done from home. I changed
the domain to a workgroup so that I could print to a printer that is attached
to another computer via wireless networking.

you don't have to change from a domain to a workgroup, there is no
requirement to belong to a workgroup to use printers or shares on workgroup
computers. and as you have found it breaks your domain account. if you
don't have a local machine account you can use you will have to take it back
to the office and beg an IT tech to put it back on the domain for you.
