LOG ON PROBLEM :(

"The system could not log you on. Make sure your User name
and domainare ...

On my laptop (windows XP) i am asked to type in user name
and password to start using the computer. Recently i had
the laptop networked with my home computer. Since then i
have been unable to use the laptop because even when
correct user name and password is filled in i get the
following error message "The system could not log you on.
Make sure your User name and domainare correct, the type
your password again." What to do?
 
Sounds like you disjoined the machine from a domain and don't have the local
admin passsword. Is this the case?
