Can someone help me with this...used to be when I started up Win2000 the password window
would pop up, I would type in the password and see the letters appear as ******as I
typed. Then hitting ok the window would quickly disappear and the logon would proceed.
Now what happens is this: when the password window pops up and I try to type in my
password, there are no ****** appearing as I type. It is as if I am not typing
anything. But I do so anyhow, then his OK (or Enter), and then there is a long delay,
around 15-30 seconds and eventually the logon completes and the desktop appears.

I'm not sure how this change occured but it seems to have stuck. I've tried changing
the password but the problem remains. Can someone suggest a solution for me?

Thanks, John

Friend, during logon process, some steps are required, like apply GPO and DNS
queries.
Try verify if your DNS servers are up, and the replication are Ok too. The
DNS is very important to logon processo, to find correct domain controller
and apply group policies.
The delay can be a wrong configuration in the DNS server and client.
