log in error 403

Can anyone help me please? I have a web site hosted by angelfire (for years)
and I edit and build in frontpage, but for the past week when i try to access
it to edit i just keep getting 'error 403' and it wont let me log in.
Angelfire insists its nothing to do with them. I am afraid I am going to lose
my site after years of working on it! Grateful for any ideas, Chris

I haven't used Angelfire before, but are you able to log into the site
directly with FrontPage? (If it's a truly FP enabled web site). If so then
make sure that the site is set so that anonymous users can browse through
the Tools | Server | Permissions (In FP 2003, earlier versions are similar).
The 403 error does come from the server and basically says you're not
allowed access to the site. If it's a Linux/UNIX server, you'll have to
check the permissions in the appropriate config file, they could very well
be off though I'm not an expert on Linux/UNIX servers and permissions.
Angelfire should be able to help you make sure that the permissions are
correct because this is definitely not a browser or HTML error, this error
is initiated by the server due to server permissions.

Hope this helps,

I know this is sad but i am not sure i know what you mean! I open front page
then just log in with my user name and password, i have two sites and the
other one is fine. The user name/password is angelfire and works fine when i
log into angelfire, just has stopped working in frontpage where i edit! Thank
you so much for bothering to reply - i really appreciate it - Chris

What version of FrontPage??

Have your host check / reset the FrontPage Extensions.

An Error 403 - Forbidden is usually a server related issue
(access to the resource identified by the URL is forbidden for some reason)
- do you have any firewall software running blocking the URL?
Can you browse to the site in IE?
- and when there try File Edit w/ FP

I set your URL but the page never opens
- it stops loading at about 50 % (just your background image shows) and causes 100% CPU usage (had to close IE to stop it)

IMHO
- it is definitely an angelfire hosting issue
- or their server has some sort of virus or other problem (their scripts) serving pages

heavens now it says : documents in this folder are unavailable. The folder
may have been moved or deleted or network problems may be preventing
connection to the server' !!!
