My home page in IE can not be changed and I am stuck with a porn site. I am trying to modify the registry (according to the help feature) by typing in "regedit" in "run" and get an error msg regarding administrator privelege. However I did not set up an administor account or password for my personal system. Can anyone tell me how to correct or get around this issue. I know it's virus related but my scan shows no virus in my system. Help!! Thanks

The account is there by default. If you chose no password for the local
administrator account when you installed the operating system then it is
blank.

It's possible you may have some MalWare installed. This wouldn't be picked
up by a tool like Norton Antivirus. Hunt around on the internet for a
couple of tools (both available on free download). One is AdWare, the other
is SWShredder. Try running these and you may find things return to normal.

Bob, I am sure they are just typos, but the programs you refer to ar
Adaware and CWShredder. CWShredder should take care of the homepag
issue. If not, there is another app called Hijackthis that shoul
correct the problem
