log-in administative password

I changed the password on my Laptop and I cannont
remember the password for the life of me! I desperatley
do not want to use my recovery disks! Is there any other
way to reset my password????

okay, first of all there should be an administrative
logon which is typically hidden until you get to safe
mode.(XP home) reboot and hit f8 until you get a screen
that has various options, one of which is safe mode.
select it and it should get you to a login screen. type
administrator, leave password blank, then go to accounts
in control panel and select user and change password. xp
pro is a bit different. just hit control/alt/delete
twice quickly at at login and type administrator, leave
password blank etc. go to user accts and change
password. See Jupiters many responses. he's smarter
than me.
