Locking the Workstation

I am looking for s shortcut to logoff

Similar this for Lock WorkStation:
%windir%\System32\rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation

Or this for Shutdown:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\shutdown.exe -s -t 0

Or this for restart:
%windir%\system32\shutdown.exe -r -t 0

Does someone know of a similar shortcut for logoff?

Hit the Windows key, then hit U (but not simultaneously).

Try:

%windir%\system32\shutdown.exe -l

(That's lowercase "L" not "1")

Try [Windows Key] + L

This keyboard shortcut will only lock the system, similar to what a screen saver accomplishes when configured with a password requirement.

The shutdown.exe -l command will actually log the user off.

The main difference here is that the keyboard shortcut will leave any programs running that the user had open and the command will close these programs.

Please put your replies down here. Bottom posting makes it easier to
read the entire thread.

ANY keyboard that has a Windows key will work with the shortcut I
provided.

Yes but not what they expect.

Once again, bottom posting makes it easier to read the....oh, why do I
bother.

They asked for a shortcut. I gave them one. What would they
"expect"? If they followed the instructions, then they would get what
they "expect:" a way to logoff, or even shutdown/hibernate, Windows.
