Locking position of objects

I'm just working on a template presentation in Powerpoint 2007. I'm using
Master Slides to create the layout, however the text box / placholders are
still movable in the standard edit presentation view. Is there a way to lock
the position of placeholders so that thier size/position can only be changed
in the Master Slide?

I'm not entierly sure I follow? Even if I insert objects into another
container these are still movable within the default edit presentation
view...I'm trying to find a way to stop anyone moving the text/content place
holders outside of the Master View.

Hi SeriousMatt,

If I've got your question right, no. That is, the Master determines *where*
layouts will appear on your slide, but you can still drag them around in the
slide view. Most folks would get awful cranky if you couldn't! Now, someone
may have come up with another solution, but I haven't found it.

If you insert the slide number into a normal text box on the master rather

using PPT's own slide number placeholder, you can't select or move it
around in
anything but Master view.

Steve, I understood Matt's question so that he wants to prevent the normal
text placeholders from being moved around. Not the slide number placeholder.
In this case Glen's answer is quite right, isn't it?
