as administrator, once signed on,how or can i put a lock
on msn messenger and the internet to prevent my 13 year
old from having access to these?

You could go to control panel/network connections and select your network adapter,
then right click it and select disable which would disable ALL internet access. Of
course you would have to enable it when you need to use it. Another option is to use
a personal firewall. Either one that can be configured differently for each user or
one where only the administrator may change settings or enable/disable it [don't
disable unless you have some other firewall protection to the internet]. Portslock is
configurable for each user, but not free. Zone Alarm, Kerio, and Sygate all have
excellent personal firewalls that are free for home use. --- Steve
