My computer has decided to forget or alter my login password. I now cannot
gain access to Administrator settings. Other users are ok (no password). As i
am the only person that knows the password, and its the same one i use for
everything, its not a case forgetfullness. Have checked Caps Lock. I use XP
Home. What can i do?

Boot in safe mode and you should see the built-in administrator account. If
you have not set a password for that account, you can log in with a blank
password.

If it is not allowing to boot from the safe mode with n/w
boot in to the normal with other users
check whether the user account has the admin right
if it has try to delete the admin account and create a new account,However
nedd to take the data backup before you do that
and avoind creatng the same user name
try with a different one
and you can set the password
