Locked folders

When I try to delete some folders, I get a 'file in use' message.
Cedrick Collomb's Unlocker states that the folder is in use by MsMpEng.exe.
I have not been able to reproduce the problem...

MsMpEng.exe would be the Windows Defender Service--the System Service
running from boot time, which provides Real-time protection.

What folders are you trying to delete?

As I look back at this, yours is the second post on this issue I've read
today.

I think what is happening is that a scheduled scan is proceeding with no
visible UI, leading to this message.

I'm unclear whether the fact that there is no UI for this scan is a bug, or
intentional.
