lock up i xp

I have a second computer with windows xp service pack 2 that just
occasionaly locks up. I get no mouse or keyboard response-nothing. I can't
even do a ctrl-alt-del, I have to hold the power button in to reboot. It
will lock up just on random things. i do not even try to multitask. it has
12m meg of ram. I have reformattted the drive and reinstalled windows. It
worked for a day and started with the same issues-any ideas? Is this a
hardware issue? Is something going bad on the hardware? help if you can.
Thanks

128Mb RAM is NOT enough.. 256Mb running NO eye candy will get you by.. 512Mb
is optimum and not too bad if you knock out the eye candy..

For graphics intensive work, get much more..
