I am making a PPT in a question and answer format. I want to freeze or lock
the background so that the show will only adavnce by clicking on the links I
have created. Presently, it advances to the next slide if I click anywhere on
the background.

Hi,

Right-click the slide, and select "slide transition".

A menu will appear, and there is a section entitled "Advance slide".

Unselect "on mouse click". You can also chose the option of applying this
to all the slides.

I found that they are still able to move on to the next slide by using the
arrow buttons on the keyboard. So this only de-activates the mouse click...

Choose Slide Show, Set Up Show and select Kiosk mode.

That should be all there is to it.

Thank you, Steve. Perfect solution. Also covers space bar, arrow keys, etc!

Many thanks!
