lock out and inmediate log off !!!!!!!

After installing certain freeware software, I rebooted the computer.

At the login screen I select my account, windows starts up (I get to see the
background picture and hear the MS-log-in-music) and then inmediatly logs off.

I´ve tried all users and the hidden administrador (safemode start-up). Same
problem.

Two more things you can try:

Connect the hard disk to other XP system and load the registry of the subject computer. Then, fix the Userinit path in registry:
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&[email protected]

If that's not feasible, consider a repair install.
