I have a Windows 2000 Pro Workstation that gave up the ghost. I attached it
to another PC as a 2nd drive, but need to try to recover Contacts, etc from
the old PC. It was running Office XP. Any thoughts, thanks in advance!

Assuming "D" is the name of the attached drive, you should find it in
D:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\something.PST
where "{user} is the name the user has on the old machine and "something"
may be "Outlook" or some other file name. That file contains all Outlook
items. Copy that file to some folder on your current hard drive, making
sure you do not overwrite another file of the same name. Then in Outlook,
click File>Open>Outlook Data File, browse to the file, select it, and click
OK. You'll now have acces to all the old folders.
