I have a W2K server that was off-site for backup/replications reasons. I was
not the admin who set this up, they are no longer here, so I am not sure of
how it was configured. The previous person was not very experienced, to my
understanding, and was learning things as they setting the network up.
Here is my problem, I cannot log into the server locally, it is now onsite,
with the administrator id and password. When I try I get the following, “The
local policy of this system does not permit you to login in interactively.â€
If I use the Domain admin account and password I get this message, “The
system cannot log you onto this domain because the system’s computer account
in its primary domain is missing or the password on that account is
incorrect.†I tried resetting the account for the server, but that didn’t
work. I tried deleting the account and adding it back to the system; that
didn’t work. I should also note that the server was off the network for a
good two months, it was turned off, and I believe this may have affected the
security and may be part of the problem of why I cannot get into the system
even via term. services.
Is there anything else I can do or do I have to reinstall Windows 2000
server software? If so, what should I be concerned about or look out for if
I do a reinstall?
Thanks in advance.
