Local Area Connection

Hi
I have an icon in system tray (right hand side next to clock) which has a
big red X. I go to Network Connections and the X is on the 1st Local Area
Network. There is another Local Area Connection(2) and a 1394 Connection.
I'm on cable using USB connection. Do I need all 3, If not how to delete
the ones I do not need? Also how do I delete the Icon with the red X?

Go to the Control Panel, Network and Internet Connections, Network
Connections and right click and disable those that you don't use.

The icon with the x is just showing that you have a network card
installed that isn't current connected to anything (because you're
using the usb connection instead). It's no big deal. If it bothers you
to see it, go to the Network Connections properties and untick the box
that says "show icon in the system tray" or some such language.
