Load needed DLLs for kernel

I have erred. I am attempting to set up my Dell laptop
witha docking station. I inserted the CD with Drivers and
Utilities for settign up the docking station. Now, I can
not boot up Windopws XP. I get theis error message"
Windows could not start because of an error in the
software. Please report this problem as : load needed
DLLs for kernel
I have tried bootign from the XP install disk, but it
takes me into XP installation and asked tme for a log on
or somehing that I don't have.
Any wisdom. HELP!!

Hello Bob,
This is usually caused when the Ntoskrnl.exe and Hal.dll files are
mismatched. These file are different for different machines types. So the
two files are copied and renamed during install to hal.dll and
ntoskrnl.exe.
