LLTD question

I attempted to install the Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) Responder
update (KB922120) on my XP computer so it would be included in my Vista
computer's network. The install did not complete because the utility said
the installation was not necessary. Further research showed that XP SP3
requires a hot fix to accomplish the same update post SP3. I requested the
hot fix from MS and received an email with a link . My concern is that the
email included a boatload of disclaimers saying that if I load an irrelevant
hot fix to my system that it would self-destruct. The link does reference
the article for the KB number above, so I'm confident that I have the
correct hot fix. Can anyone tell me why I should not install the hot fix?
Thanks for your help.

Those disclaimers are provided because hot fixes are not fully tested so you
are installing them at your own risk. Generally, the hot fixes do not cause
problems; however, since they are system patches, a system problem could
occur. Make sure everything important is backed up and that you have a
current restore point--then decide if you want to take a chance.

Any chance you can post the link that microsoft sent you. I'm striking out
finding it and have the same problem.
