Live update problems on AntiSpyware (Beta 1)

R

Richard

Whenever I try to update the definitions manually, it
gives me a message "Warning, could not connect to the
internet".

But my internet (broadband) is working perfectly, and
there's no firewall block I can see. Can anyone help
please?

Also, ensure that your web browser (Internet Explorer) is
on line. Open IE, click File and ensure that Work Off line
is not checked

And Outlook Express should be on-line, not off-line, too.

I'm having the same problem and have tried the
suggestions of checking Internet Explorer and Outlook for
Working Offline - these are not ticked - does anyoen have
any other suggestions ? Everything was working fine
until two days ago when the problem started.

ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...................

I thought OE would depend on IE's engine and vice versa

You can also get this message when there are server-end issues.

I suspect that there may have been such issues at times yesterday, as the
newer 5711 definitions were rolled out.

Others have noted that this situation sometimes has gone away with no action
on their part--perhaps because of some such issue outside their control.

I've had the same problem twice using both firefox and
IE6. I read on Castle Cops forum that it's a posible
conflick with CounterSpy, but if your not using
CounterSpy there must be another reason. Check out
Bleepingcomputer.com as well as CastleCops.com MSAS
forums. Somebody is bound to figure this one out.
