Ok, I'm not sure if I'm in the right place to be asking this...
Well anyway. I'm fixing a computer for my friend, well, I'm not experenced
with windows XP. My friend bought the computer with everything loaded on it.
Its a HP Pavilion i believe. I came with a Recorery CD and Office 2000 and
drivers. but it didnt come with a Windows XP cd. I need to format it and
reload it but, no windows CD. I need suggestion or something.

Please and thank you!

You can use the recovery disc to format and re-install it
to the condition when it was 'new'. Make sure to back up
any files that are still wanted before you format it.

The Recovery CD you mentioned is what you must use to reinstall XP. (That is
what is provided by vendors that preload the operating system.)

Be aware that the Recovery CD will return the computer to its brand new
configuartion - all updates/patches/fixes/etc will have to be re-installed.

The Recovery CD will restore it to the way it came from the
factory. If you're planning to format it anyway, that seems like
the right option.
