Literature for DOS under Win XP

Can anyone recommend me literature on MS-DOS batch programming under
Windows XP pro? I am not a programmer nor a computer or DOS freak.
Rather I use DOS batch programs to switch between data analysis, other
applications, or simple filing tasks, when a single application can no
longer handle what I would like to do.

XP has no DOS, but does include a DOS emulator which will run most DOS batch
commands, but some may have a slightly different syntax. Be sure to run
them from a CMD.EXE prompt, instead of a COMMAND.COM prompt. For a complete
list or more information, click Start, Help and Support and enter "CMD" in
the Search box, and you'll get several help articles (one with a
command-line reference A-Z) to get you started.
