I have been storing some old DOS programs on my Win-XP Home drive, and would
like to delete some of them. When I tried to delete them (EXEs), the Win
system tells me:
"Cannot Delete File 'ZZZ.Exe'. It is being used by another person or
program.
Close any programs that might be using the file and try again."
I know that these files are NOT part of Win-XP, and are NOT being used by
Win-XP. They are just old programs from an older PC I've stored on the XP
hard drive for awhile. I have been unable to delete any old DOS 'Exe' type
program yet.
Anyone have any ideas how I can do this. I tried deleting them from a DOS
prompt, as I used to do on Win-98, but that won't work either. Apparently
Win-XP doesn't allow deleting EXEs from the DOS prompt.
TIA
